The Food Pantry Ministry started February 2022 as a ministry to provide food items to the elderly and the members of the community.
The Food Pantry Ministry partners with Grace Klein Ministries to distribute rescued food from the Jefferson County area. The distribution is held on Thursdays between 5:00PM-6:00PM with guidelines in place. This ministry continues to grow weekly with the community getting the word out.

The music ministry of Jones Chapel AME Church is grateful for the opportunity to coordinate with all ministries to provide an atmosphere of a divine worshipful experience. Aware of the many needs of a diverse congregation, all efforts are made through prayer and spiritual guidance to uplift the spirit of the Lord so that each parishioner has received a personal anointing while fellowshipping together.
As a church with a rich heritage, the music ministry does its best to encourage all parishioners to lift their voices , clap their hands, feel the movement of the music from the soles of their feet to the top of their heads glorifying God in the Highest praise.
We have a wonderful music ministry with four choirs: The Sanctuary Choir, Male Chorus, People of Worship, Youth Choir.

Our Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) consists of a group of ladies and some men that are ministering at our local church as well as the surrounding areas. We have prayed for our city, given out care packages, visited the sick and shut-in and sang at other local churches and area nursing homes. Through our WMS, a unit was formed called “Daughters of Faith”, which consisted of younger ladies of the WMS. “Daughters of Faith” at Jones Chapel AME Church is also known as People of Worship (POW). POW is a team of young ladies and men that ministers through songs, prayer, feeding the hungry, donating socks, blankets and toiletries to the homeless and to shelters, donating school supplies to our children, donating gift baskets, mailing cards to the sick and shut-it and bereaved families. The WMS/POW is a strong entity that continues to thrive in the neighborhood as well as our church.
In the summer of 2016, our former Pastor Rev. Richard Carter Jr. began a weekly prayer line for members of our congregation. It was based on the concept of intercessory prayer. That is prayer not for oneself but praying for the wellness of others. Jesus Christ is the intercessor of mankind, he not only prayed to God for us, he died for our sins! Based on this principle, the prayer line at Jones Chapel A.M.E. was off to a great start.
Sis. Pat Price, Sis. Eddie Mae Johnson, Rev. Rosalyn Baugh, Bro. Burl Murrell, Sis. Cynthia Milloy, Sis. Toni Morgan and Bro. Brown continued to pray for our church, our families, the sick, the deprived, children, the elderly, our society and even our president. Many whom we pray for do not know us but we walk with faith that our sincere supplications are heard by The Almighty. We lift up each other in times of personal crisis, we rebuke failure, negativity the devil and his minions who seek to steal the joy not only from us but mankind as well. Our line is open to anyone (515) 739-1020. Access code 142810# you may call and join in meditation or open prayer, we invite you to join us!
